Inflore Publishing

The identity developed for Inflore Publishing is reflective of it’s mission. This brand publishes books that are targeted at adults aged 18-30, many of whom have started studying in a new city, or having first experiences living by themselves, and need something to help them connect with other people. Inflore provides riveting, insightful stories and books, and this is represented in the identity and the book cover designs.

The logo, consisting of the name underneath arrangement of stacked shapes, represents a person’s growing library of books, as well as the growing knowledge that comes from sharing and discussing books with friends. It also represents a ‘display’ of books, artfully stacked and beautiful enough to keep out on your coffee table to spark conversation.

Inflore Publishing is a conceptual book publishing company. Their goal is to help expand people’s knowledge and grow their own library. Inflorescence is a cluster of flowers attached to a main branch.

They believe that a book can be the first step in a growing connection to the self and others - the main branch in a cluster of conversations. Inspired by eclectic collections that spark conversation, they publish books to share, discuss and display.

The cover designs are made to be their own beautiful artworks. Instead of extending the Inflore identity very obviously over onto the book covers, I was subtle in the application of the brand mark. I focused on creating each book as it’s own, using typography to indicate the different genres, rather than a set design or colourway.

I used an angled guide to create the artwork that I took from the brand mark itself, which created unity across the six covers. Each book has a wrap-around artwork fully reflective of the book itself, and it’s themes or narrative, creating an eclectic collection.
